Spring Flowers!

The boys and I went to Deepwood Park. There are so many beautiful flowers in bloom right now. If you get a chance go check it out!

There is beautiful trails, small flower gardens, and a greenhouse to explore. It's a lot of fun for kids and dogs too!

Spring Break at the Beach, 2011

We are ready to whale watch! Here, we're at Boiler Bay.

Jamie got a little angry at me. I don't even remember why!

Jack was a serious whale watcher! They had whale watching volunteers called "Whale Spoken Here", that were set up at different spots along the coast. Jack and Jamie each got a whale watching sticker! Very Cool!

Ok, now he's into it! Jamie, whale watcher extraordinare!

Jamie took a picture of Mommy at Depoe Bay. Not very flattering, but he tried!

It was so stormy at Depoe Bay. The boys loved it though because water was splashing up over the bridge and they got wet! Unfortunately, so did Mommy!

Minto-Brown Island Park

Minto-Brown is such a beautiful park. There is so much for the boys to do there.

We went to the duck pond and fed the ducks.

There was about 5 little baby ducklings that were so adorable! Here is one of them getting a piece of bread a running quickly to get back in the pond.

Here it is swimming around waiting for more bread to be thrown its way.

The boys just loved feeding the ducks and geese. We spent a while sitting and watching them after we ran out of food.

Now it's back to business - we're going on a bike ride on the trails.

They both had to wear their sunglasses.

They are constantly fighting over who gets to be in front. Unfortunately for Jamie, Jack is usually the one.

Sometimes Jack will be generous and let Jamie pull out in front for a few minutes.

Jack has a really cool new bike that he got for his birthday but it won't fit in the trunk of my car so he's stuck riding his little bike until I get one of those attachments for my trunk. It is a sore subject for him everytime we decide to go for a ride.

Minto-Brown also has a never ending supply of blackberries.

Jack loves eating them right off the bush.

Jamie's not a big fan of blackberries but he loved picking them!

The boys decided to watch a movie in Jamie's room. It was quiet for a long time so I went back and checked on them because every mother knows that when it's really quiet then they're probably doing something they shouldn't be. This is what I found...

Gus was actually asleep too but I woke him up while I was trying to take the picture.

I love that they are so close. I don't think my brothers and I would have watched a movie together, let alone fall asleep on each other! :-)

Isn't this the cutest thing ever! I've decided every time they say they hate each other I'm going to show them these pictures! I'm sure they'll just love that!

3-D Darth Vader Puzzle

Uncle Michael gave Jack this cool 3-D Darth Vader Puzzle.

It was very fun to put together but it took us 2 days.

Jack should get most of the credit for putting it together, he was very dedicated.

Jamie didn't really get involved in putting it together but loved the final result.

Jack's favorite position is catcher. The only problem is the equipment probably weighed more than he does!!!

On most mornings Gus usually gets up on Jack's bed (with my help) to wake Jack up.

Today is an extra special morning because it's Jack's 7th birthday!
For breakfast I made Jack some waffles because those are his favorite!

For his birthday cake Jack wanted me to make his favorite, a Coconut cake.

It was very yummy!

Even though they are opposites they both love playing Star Wars.

Caribbean-Themed BBQ

Every month my friends and I have an "International Night". We choose a theme from around the world and have a dinner planned around it. This month was Caribbean Night.

Jody got a big surprise from her son Nick. He is in the military and has been away at training since Christmas. He surprised his mom with a late Mother's Day present and flew home and surprised her here. It was so sweet.

Jack, of course, wants to hang out inside most of the time and watch the big kids play Rock Band.

Jamie was outside having a ball playing Star Wars with anyone he could find.

Sometimes he even played by himself.

Jamie loved it when all the big boys came outside and played light sabres with him. He had the time of his life!!!

Gus even came to the BBQ because his best friends are here: Lola, Fiona, and Buster. Buster is a dappled daschund and he and Gus love each other, a little too much sometimes!

Jack lost his first tooth!!!

Jack lost his first tooth at school today! He was so excited that he called me and had me come down.

He wanted to lose his tooth at school because they give you a little necklace that has

a tooth container on it. The container is shaped like a tooth.

The secretary said that when she took him into the bathroom to look at it he said
"I love my mouth having a hole in it!" She said that he was just jumping up and down.

Jack is probably the last kid in his class to lose a tooth so he has been very anxious for it to happen. Most of the kids have lost 2-3 teeth and he hadn't even lost one yet.

Today was a very big day for Jackson Tyler Hart!!!!

Art, Artists, and Authors Night at Pringle Elementary

By looking at these two you would never guess that they were sleep deprived and running around like wild maniacs in front of all their friends and friend's parents.

For Jack's class his teacher, Mrs. Ebbs, made some themed books with the children's artwork in them. This one was titled "My Mom".

When I read this I about died!!! 40's??? Can't run fast??? You gotta love a kid for being painfully honest! I don't think I've laughed that hard in a long time. It made the rest of the night a little more tolerable.
The next book was titled "Spring Break". This one wasn't as humorous but was still very cute. His best friends Max and Colby Clydesdale is who he is talking about. Colby's last name isn't Tams but his Mom calls him Colby James when he's in trouble so that must be where Jack thought that was his last name!

They are so darn cute how can you stay mad at them...

It's Baseball Time!!!

This year Jack is on the Washington Nationals. His uniform number is 6 just like last year.

Jack is probably one of the youngest on his team. Most of the boys are in their second year of AA.

Here the boys are warming up before the game.

It was really cold and windy at game time so Jack had to wear a sweatshirt while he was outfield.

Here he is listening to his coaches instructions.

He got to stand on the pitchers mound for a bit of the game.

He was center field most of the time though. He did see some action with a few power hitters.

Here he is up to bat. He has made it on base every single time!

He is the only leftie on his team so he feels a little awkward at times.

I am also trying to teach him not to pull his pants up so high with his shirt tucked in.

He looks a little like Erkle. Poor boy!

Here he is in the dug out. He's next up to bat!

After the game they did the 2-4-6-8 thing. They lost this one but now have a 3-1 record so they're doing much better!

Here's good ole' Jamie. We had fun watching until the wind started picking up.

We were not very prepared for this game and will remember blankets for future games!

Pringle Elementary Talent Show

Every year Pringle has a talent show called "Pringle's Got Talent".

After a lot of thought, Jack decided to do Speed Stacks!

A couple of his other choices include: playing his guitar (never has had a lesson, think Ferris Bueler's Day Off and the clarinet!), singing a song (wanted to write his own), and doing magic tricks.

Here's my cutie pie anxiously awaiting his turn, he was #7 out of 63!

Jamie was very excited to see his big brother perform but we brought trains just in case the excitement wore off.

He's so cute!!!

Jamie loves to play with his trains. He did end up playing with them on the gym floor.

That little person up there on the stage is Jack Speed Stacking.
When Jamie saw him up there he started screaming "there's Jackie". Too cute!

He did an awesome job. He is famous at school now.

All his classmates want him to teach them now.

Planting Spring Flowers!

Jack and Jamie helped Mommy plant spring flowers in pots,
hanging pots,and in the yard.

Aren't they the sweetest boys you've ever seen!!!

Jack's favorite color is yellow so he chose a yellow Gerber Daisy for his pot.

Jamie's favorite color is blue but we couldn't find a blue Gerber Daisy.

He gave in and got a red one because that's the same color as

James (another Thomas Train)

Everyone Loves Peeps

Jack's favorite color is gold so he chose yellow peeps.
It's funny because they had the same reaction to peeps as I
did as a child, they were excited to try them but after a

couple bites/licks they were no longer a hit. I think everyone
remembers the petrified Peeps left in their Easter baskets.

After one picture Jack was not into getting anymore done.
He says "Mom, this is so not cool."

Of course Jamie is always up for a good picture. His favorite

color is blue (because that's the color of Thomas the Tank Engine).

Messy Spaghetti Feed

We love spaghetti!

Jamie has a spaghetti goatee!

It's actually a little drippy! Yummy!

Jack has gotten a little better over the years so his goatee has

turned into maybe spaghetti chapped lips?

That was Jamie's first attempt, the second was much better!

Mommy wasn't in the contest due to her taking pictures and cleaning

Jamie chose Wall-E as the theme for his party.

He loved having everyone sing him "Happy Birthday"

Jamie got a couple of costumes from Santa. One was this ninja costume. He and Jack are very big on the dress up. Jack also got 2 costumes from Santa.

Cousin Will was looking very dapper on Christmas Day. This was his first time as a big boy at our house so it took a bit for the unfamiliar surroundings to soak in.

After he got comfortable he settled in for a yummy Christmas dinner.

Jack had 'the best Christmas ever' because he got the PS2 game system he has been begging and pleading for since he could speak. Here he is rockin' out on Guitar Hero. As soon as Uncle Robert got ahold of the guitar the competition was on.

Just so you know, I am one rockin' Momma! I beat Robert's high score in like 2 songs!

I guess Uncle Robert will have to come down to try and win back his title!

Winter Storm Damages

My arborvitae trees fell over during the storm. I was planning on getting them

trimmed in the spring but I guess I won't have to! Some of them are just weighted down

by the snow and I'm hoping will bounce back after it melts.

We also had our neighbors maple tree fall on Jack & Jamie's playhouse and on our roof.

Luckily, their was no damage to either of the houses.

Looks like some of my friends will be getting firewood for next winter!

Playing in the Snow

We got out side today to enjoy some of the snow in our backyard!

It's too powdery to make a snowman but we made lots of snowballs.

Jack and Jamie loved throwing snowballs at each other and, eventually, me.

Gus loved the snow too!

The E.R. Trip

Well, Jamie has officially become a little boy. On Saturday he decided not to listen to Mommy and stand up in the bathtub. Which resulted in a trip to the E.R. Now he has three stitches and a dead tooth. The Doctor said that this injury is a right of passage for about 50% of all men...

It's a Cowboy Christmas

With all of the weird weather we have been having the boys have had to stay inside a lot. This has forced them to play together for a change! They have been dressing up as cowboy sheriff's and having a great time. Jack even pulled out the harmonica that Joy, Max and Colby got for him on his 3rd birthday. He's been playing that around the campfire.

Everyone be safe out there in this bad weather, especially the PDX people, we heard you guys got hit really bad! Merry Christmas!

Beach Weekend in Lincoln City

Jack, Jamie and I joined a few friends in Lincoln City for the 1st weekend in December. We had a great time and the weather cooperated the whole weekend. The boys dug a very deep hole and put this piece of drift wood in to make a pole. They were all very proud of themselves!

Weekend at the Beach

I guess I should introduce everyone to Gus, our big, mean dog. We adopted him in April, his birthday is November 2nd. He is a fun dog that loves the kids. He is very faithful to all three of us. He loves attention and will lick your face until you give it to him. He has earned the nickname "Frenchie" from my best friend Joy.
